This league is considered to be one of the highest levels of competition for youth wrestlers in Maryland. This is a dual meet format similar to high school. The best wrestler at each weight class will represent the Predators Wrestling dual team. There is no separation by age in this league. All matchups are based on weight class. The regular season has approximately 15 team dual meets over the course of 5 weeks. The regular season runs from mid Decmeber - late January. The top 16 teams will qualify for one of the Dual Meet Championships in early February. The EOY Navy/Lehigh Championship is an individual league championship for each weight class. Weekly dual meets will be held on Sundays from Mid December - Late January. We will typically wrestle 3 teams each week. Total event time is approximately 4 hours. Locations can be up to 1 hour distance from New Market, MD.
Weight class : 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100, 106, 113, 120, 126, 132, 145, 160.
Dual Meets start at 55- 160.
If a wrestler wants to wrestle off for a weight class they must let the head coach know before Tuesday practice the week of the event.
Match Times:
55lb-90lb: 1:30, 1:30, 1:30
95lb and up: 2:00, 2:00, 2:00
Maryland state officials will be used for duals. Wrestlers must wear singlet and headgear.
Wrestlers must weigh in wearing their singlets. There are no allowances for dual meets. Wrestlers must be at or below their weight class.Let your head coach know if you can't make weight. We don't want youth wrestlers cutting weight. 1lb-2lb weight management is acceptable with coach approval.
The top 16 teams at the end of the regular season will compete in one of 2 Dual Meet Championships based on the final standings. Wrestlers must have at least 2 weigh ins with the dual team to be eligible to wrestle. This event is in early February. Teams will be placed into a seeded 8 team bracket. Top 3 teams in each event receive an award.
Weight Allowance: 1lb 55lb - 90lb & 2lb 95lb - 160lb

This event is an individual EOY league tournament. Wrestlers will be placed in seeded brackets based on performance during the regular season. This event takes place mid February. Wrestlers must have 2 weigh ins to be eligible to compete in the event. The top 7 placers in each bracket receive an award and qualify for the MD Junior League State Tournament.
Weight Allowance: 1lb 55lb - 90lb & 2lb 95lb - 160lb

Additional Weight Classes: 50lb, 138lb, & HWT (These wrestlers must still have 2 weighins during the regular season)
This event is an individual State tournament. The top 7 wrestlers from the MJWL are bracketed with the top 7 wrestlers from the AAWL to create one of the most competitive youth wrestling events in MD. Wrestlers will be placed in seeded brackets based on performance during the Navy/Lehigh Championships. This event takes place late February. Wrestlers must have placed top 7 in the MJWL Navy/Lehigh Tournament to compete. Top 8 wrestlers in the State Tournament receive an award.
