All Cubs & JV wrestlers are eligible to participate in the Mid Maryland Wrestling League (MMWL). This is a competitive rec league where wrestlers are paired based on age/weight/experiece level. This league offers mat experience against other wrestlers with similar experience. Wrestlers are not required to compete however it is recommended to gain experience in a competitive environment. Eligible wrestlers may compete in EOY qualifier and League Championship.
Wrestlers having success in league events may attend a State Qualifier to earn the chance to compete at the MSWA State Championships. This is an age/weight based event featuring the best wrestlers in MD. This is excellent exposure for wrestlers interested in competing at the next level. Please consult with your head coach prior to registering.
We are an organization that relies on volunteer wrestling coaches and parents contributing together to ensure a successful and fun filled season. If you are interested in coaching or volunteering, you may sign up during the registration process. All coaches are required to pass a background check. This is an excellent chance to help others and stay involved in your wrestlers journey. No experience required.
Communication will be done through TeamSnap after registration closes. You will receive an email invite to the main address from your registration. once accepted you'll be able to add additional family members to your wrestlers account. Team emails and chat will be communicated through the app. You will also have access to the practice and competition calendar. It is very important to mark availability for events before deadlines.
We will have 2 fundraisers during our winter season. Superbowl Squares and our Strength-Speed-Skill Challenge. These funds are what gives us the ability to fund our facility. We need every wrestler to participate.
Our ultimate goal is to provide kids with the skills it takes to become successful not only in the sport of wrestling, but in life. Learning the value or hard work and providing a blueprint for long term success.
